Rob Dube and I sat down to discuss positive psychology, mindfulness, A Happier You, and building habits of positive thinking, feeling, and doing. Check out the podcast here. Rob is a champion of compassionate leadership, guiding others with mindfulness and deep caring in a way that reshapes organizations, nurtures healthy environments, and improves the relationship we have with ourselves. These social, cognitive, and affective changes are likely mirrored at a neurobiological level. In one study, after a course of cognitive behavioral therapy, researchers observed weaker activity and neural connections between the prefrontal cortex and amygdala in response to negative emotional stimuli. Focusing on positive experiences, along with restructuring negative thoughts, appears to alter the landscape of our neural networks.
